Off-duty Moorestown police officer killed in crash

MOORESTOWN — Officials say an off-duty Moorestown police officer has died in a motorcycle accident.

Police say Officer Craig Berner?s motorcycle overturned on Westfield Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Police tell The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill the 52-year-old was thrown into the path of a pickup driven by an off-duty detective with the Burlington County Prosecutor?s Office.

Berner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The father of three had been a police officer for more than 20 years.
