U of I Extension program on year-round vegetable crops

A free program on growing vegetables locally all year-round will be held noon-1:30 Aug. 30 at the University of Illinois Extension's Kankakee County office, at 1650 Commerce Drive, Bourbonnais.

The basics of vegetable variety selection, planting considerations, watering, and harvest will be covered. The time to think about production is now. Greens, roots, and other crops can be grown and harvested through the winter in this climate. The web program offers the knowledge needed to grow, eat and sell more produce throughout the year.

Registration required by Aug. 26. Call 815-933-8337.
