Can windows be repaired with a song? Can dancing fix a leak in the roof?
If the improvements are being made at the B. Harley Bradley House — the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home at 701 S. Harrison Ave., Kankakee — the answer is yes.
Thanks to the talents of Gaines Hall Jr., the son of former owner of the restored landmark house, a musical benefit is set for Aug. 25. It will benefit Wright In Kankakee (WIK), the nonprofit organization formed to preserve the house.
Labeled "The Sizzlin' Songs Of Summer," the younger Hall will present a concert at the Lincoln Cultural Center, 240 S. Warren Ave., and then host a "beach party" on the lawn at the home.
Hall has played Broadway and now stars on European stages. But this will be his second visit to Kankakee to help WIK and he promises "something for almost everybody.
