ASBURY PARK — An Ocean Township man spotted by police talking on a cell phone while driving led to his arrest on charges of stealing a car, authorities reported Tuesday.

Richard Stridiron, 53, was charged with theft of a stolen vehicle, eluding and resisting arrest and multiple traffic violations, the Monmouth County Sheriff?s Office said in a news release. He was being held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold on $35,000 bail.

Sheriff?s officers were in Asbury Park on Tuesday morning serving warrants in the area of Memorial Drive. During this time, they saw a man talking on his cell phone while driving, authorities said.
